and Purpose】
Without
excavation, the outer coating condition detector is able to find out the
position, running direction, depth of underground metal pipes, as well as the
damaged points and their number, size, and distance between them on underground
metal pipes in a convenient and accurate way.
SL-3088C coating
condition detector is applied to the corrosion and protection of petroleum,
natural gas, urban gas and underground water pipelines. The aging, friability,
peeling, and falling of pipeline protective coating will lead to corrosion and perforation,
and then to leakage, causing immeasurable losses.
SL-3088C can test
the buried pipelines without excavation in order to determine and assess the
damage conditions of the outer anti-corrosive coating, and can conduct precise
location, depth investigation and current measurement of the pipes, which was
unattainable under non-excavation cases before. That detection technology not
only works as a test and acceptance means for newly built pipes, but also can
regularly monitor the operating pipes. To test the conditions of the protective
coating of buried pipelines and to replace and repair them as required,
extending the life time of pipes, can save lots of maintenance and
reconstruction costs. It’s crucial to ensure the proper operation of pipelines.

【Detection
Principle and Methodology】
Working principle
of SL-3088C coating condition detector: the instrument consists of transmitter
and receiver. The transmitter is an independent 0.1A-1A device outputting
detection signals, while the handheld receiver is used for tracing of piping
routes, precise location of damage points and current measurement. The current
intensity on the pipes attenuates as the distance increases. With the same pipe
diameter, pipe material, and soil environment, the better the insulation
between anti-corrosive coating and earth is, the less the current loss and the
attenuation are. Otherwise, in case of the anti-corrosive coating damage, e.g.
aging, falling, the worse the insulation is, the larger the current loss and
the attenuation are. This system is the patented product of Jiangsu Shengli.
