Without
excavation, Shengli SL-580A multi-purpose underground pipeline detector is able
to determine the running direction, location and buried depth of underground
metal pipes and cables in a convenient and quick way, and to locate the leakage
points of steel anti-corrosive pipes and the failure points of underground
cables accurately.
Shengli
SL-580A pipeline detector is widely used in petroleum, petro-chemical, gas, and
pipeline transportation departments, and in engineering explorations for urban
gas, tap water, electricity, communications, etc., as well as in pipeline
anti-corrosion detection and underground cable troubleshooting, in order to
guarantee a safe operation of underground pipelines in a reliable and effective
manner.

【Detection
Principles and Methodology】
Principles
for pipeline location and depth investigation: based on the electro-magnetic
induction principle, we can determine the accurate location, running direction
and buried depth of underground pipelines by detecting the magnetic field
distribution of underground metal pipelines.
Leakage
detection principle: the transmitter sending an electrical signal to the
underground metal pipeline, in case of a damaged point on the coating of the
underground pipeline, that point is short-circuited with the earth, generating
creepage current which radiates all round, and the radiation is the strongest
above the damaged point. That’s how the pipeline detector finds out the damaged
point on the coating.
